About Odia Welfare Association

Odia Welfare Association a group of odia people residing in Mumbai dedicated to odia culture outside odisha.

The Odia Welfare Association is a non-political, non-profit, and voluntary community formed in Mumbai. Founded in 2010, in Mumbai by a small group of Odia expatriates to create a Odia belongingness among Odia people living in Mumbai. The Odia community in Mumbai key focus is to promote socio cultural activities in Mumbai and promote Odisha culture and heritage.

The community has grown over the last decade with more number of people arriving in Mumbai for employment and some to pursue their aspirations on higher education.

The membership is open to all living in Mumbai interested in joining Odia Welfare Association group for a better understanding of Odia culture and exchange of information between Mumbai & Odisha.

Our Purpose - Odia Welfare Association strives to promote rich cultural heritage of Odisha in Mumbai and provides an opportunity for Odia expatriates living in Mumbai for social gathering to retain its " Odisha connection ".

Key Engagements - Odia Welfare Association organizes two key social gatherings every year. 1) Gaja Laxmi Puja is the main event to remember and 2) Kumar Purnima to celebrate the festival . Apart from these two major events, other festivals like Raja, Holi is also celebrated.

Apart from organizing social gathering, Odia Welfare Association also actively gets involved in raising relief funds to support natural calamities i.e. cyclone, flood etc.
